The 'Cave Canem' (beware dog), accompanied by various varieties of large dogs, mostly on large chains, to make uninvited visitors think twice about entering. The 2nd was found at a bathhouse in Timgad, Algeria, and says 'Bene lava' (wash well). The 3rd was from Sabratha, Libya, and says 'Salvom Lavisse' (Bathing is good for you).
