In Episode 2, I prepare the foundation of the sauna, peel and move logs for the log cabin build and explain how I square up the building. It's a dog's life as I take Cali, our golden retriever, for long walks through the forest, along a big river and swimming in the cold lake. Here was the first look at the layout of my new off grid log cabin. I cleared the site, laid out the footprint of the cabin and began digging the foundation. Later, an early canoe trip down an icy river ended badly and maple sugar season came to a close. I moved out of the old cabin and I cut deer steaks on an open fire at the new homestead.
