Who Was Queen Maeve / Medb Medb (Old Irish: Medb, later Meadhbh or Méabh) is a legendary queen in Irish mythology, especially in the Ulster Cycle. She is often anglicised as Maeve. She ruled as Queen of Connacht, an ancient Irish province. Her husband (in many stories) was Ailill mac Máta, though she had other husbands too. She's particularly famous for instigating the Táin Bó Cúailnge (The Cattle Raid of Cooley), where she gathers an army to steal the prized Brown Bull of Cooley. | Fatima K Mat
