A dreamy blanket. 🐙 ​ This ethereal creature is a rarely encountered Blanket octopus. ​ The first male of the species, usually about an inch long, was only spotted in 2002. On the other extreme a female Blanket octopus can reach up to 2m in length. ​ They are immune to the venomous Portuguese man o’ war, whose tentacles the male and immature females rip off and use for offensive and defensive purposes. 😮 ​ Video: @jacintashackleton | QLD | ABC Landline
