The ABQ BioPark is proud to share that construction on the Mexican Wolf Conservation Facility, shared in April of this year, is now complete! Mexican gray wolves are one of North America's most endangered mammals and the BioPark has been a committed partner in the recovery program for decades. Because this 4.5 acre space is dedicated to rehabilitation, pre-release care, and breeding of wolves intended for release, it has been designed to minimize human contact and will not be open to the public.

The Mexican wolf is a highly family-oriented animal and an irreplaceable “top dog” in the ecosystems of some of the Americas’ last great wildernesses. They typically live in packs of 8-10 individuals, with a male and female as their pack leaders.⁠⁠ There’s so much to love about this top dog. 🐺⁠ Come and visit them for yourselves at the Endangered Wolf Center and embark on our Endangered Species Tour with our wildly knowledgeable educators. ⁠⁠#endangeredwolfcenter #conservationinaction #endanger
