This little calf slapped its tail and scared an entire group of manatees! Manatees usually swim at 3-5 mph, but can swim up to 25mph in very short bursts. Since they are slow moving, it is important to go slow when boating. This clip was recorded with our above water webcam at Blue Spring State Park, a protected winter sanctuary for manatees.
