Here’s how I teach my preschoolers to write their names: we start with just the first letter (capital), then add the rest in lowercase. That way, they don’t develop the habit of writing everything in capitals—a hard habit to break! If they’re not ready for their full name, they keep practicing that first letter until they’re comfortable.
