🥶❄️ or ☔️🌡️ Could there be a cold spell on the way? Seen a few articles about the usual beast of the east and winter freeze coming etc? So the GFS in particular (attached) is currently forecasting a potentially bitterly cold end to January and it has been pretty persistent over the last few days. It does look likely that East Europe will see very cold Arctic air. The ECMWF has also hinted on some models of a chance of colder weather too but it is also forecasting the Atlantic to win the battle

⚠️ Storm Update ⚠️ A very windy day ahead tomorrow. The UK Met Office and their HD model once again forecasting the strongest winds. Winds exceeding 150km/h for coastal areas of Donegal and Mayo and possibly exceeding this in exposed coastal areas. The ECMWF is now forecasting gusts exceeding 110km/h in the coastal counties of Mayo and Donegal. The worst of the winds are forecast to remain offshore.
