A 1904 Rover Forecar at Wickham Square (Hampshire) on Boxing Day. In 1904 Rover introduced a 4hp forecar to the line-up, which had the option of a water-cooled engine. It had two-stage chain transmission and included a clutch which was quite something for the time! Video and content is original and copyright to The Girder Club. | The Girder Club

🏙Back in 1904 the city of New York made a gamble to position its subway hub right here. At the time this area was known as Longacre Square containing mostly horse stables. This was by no means the ideal location for a transit hub in the fastest growing city in the world, but city officials had confidence that their city would skyrocket in growth. They were right. Newspaper giants set their headquarters here, musical theaters opened up, and the newly innovated electric lights lit up the square.

Welcome to Times Square — the heart that never stops beating in New York City 🗽✨ No matter how many times you’ve been here, it somehow always feels brand new — bright, chaotic, and full of energy 🌆💫 Back in the early 1900s, this place wasn’t glowing with neon lights — it was actually called Longacre Square and filled with horse carriages and workshops 🐎 That all changed in 1904, when The New York Times built its headquarters here and the first electric billboard lit up the night sky — markin

Since 1907, One Times Square has served as the centerpiece of the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop Celebration, a global moment that is now watched by millions each year. Originally built as the headquarters for the New York Times in 1904, this iconic property in the center of Times Square is transforming into a year-round destination with new experiential attractions as part of a $550 million redevelopment by Jamestown, a global real estate investment and management company and the building’s owner and
