Aloha Oe is a Hawaiian farewell song written by Queen Lili’uokalani in 1878. Queen Liliʻuokalani wrote Aloha ʻOe after witnessing an emotional farewell between a Hawaiian colonel and a young woman at Maunawili Ranch on the island of Oʻahu.
