In this loop, you can clearly see how the jet stream is digging a big trough into the midwest (that big U shape) and is sending a ton of moisture northward (watch this area for severe weather today). To turn the JET STREAM on, go to the LAYERS menu, then WINDS, then select JET STREAMS (500 mbar). Be sure the winds are toggled on too!
