Have you ever been inside an Italian church in America? There were over 500 Italian churches created in the United States for Italian speaking immigrants. One of them, which still exists, is Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in the Down Neck neighborhood of Newark. Many Spilangese immigrants called this area home.
