Back in Business: The 1914 Fairport Lift Bridge has finally reopened after 22 months of undergoing a major rehabilitation. At 11:45am the bridge opened to allow vehicles to pass over the Erie Canal—the span had been in the “up” position for the duration of the project. This bridge is not only one of the most unique along this historic waterway, but in the world.
