Should you suck out snake venom from a wound? NO! 🐍 Quite a few years ago it was believed that the best practise to ensure safety after a venomous snake bite was to cut the bite site and suck out the venom! This is definitely not recommended! Not only does it not work, it also puts the ‘sucker’ at risk if they have any cuts in their mouth that the venom can then get into as well! It’s better to have one envenomation than two!
