The things we did do not disqualify us from receiving God’s grace. Paul called himself the least of the apostles because of his past, yet he could still say, “By the grace of God I am what I am.” Grace does not excuse the past—it reminds us that our past does not have the final say. What disqualified us in our own eyes never disqualified us from God’s purpose.
