The item I want to buy says it is sold and shipped by Newegg and I saw a lot of comments in other threads saying it is safe as long as the item says that.

Newegg used to be great, but these days I put them at the bottom of the list right above third-party sellers on sites like Amazon/Walmart/ect. If the same part is available anywhere else within $5-10, I pay the extra for more reliable shipping time and ease of return.

I called Newegg after waiting for about a week or so and they said they'd contact the seller and that the seller had up to five business days after receiving the return to get a replacement shipped out.

The ram on newegg, which was some standard regular GSKILL ram, took over a week and delayed the whole build. Also they throw upsell attempts at you during checkout

Newegg makes you pay for return shipping on DOA items too. Lots of parts are fragile; graphics cards, motherboards, but especially mechanical hard drives. Now if an item arrives DOA, and all I want is a working version of what I ordered (not a refund or exchange for a different item) - then why the fuck should I have to pay to ship the dead one ...

Nov 13, 2023 · So carefully, that Newegg sent it back to me right in my original packaging. What the heck? The trade in program is the only reason I bought the 4070 from Newegg rather than elsewhere. I don't want to deal with the hassle of returning the 4070, but based on this negative experience, I'm pretty unlikely to buy anything else from Newegg.
