Governor Bob Ferguson issues executive order to form Family Separation Rapid Response Team to assist children of detained and deported immigrants.

Gov. Bob Ferguson said President Donald Trump's immigration policies will "destabilize families" and harm children.

Ferguson signed an executive order that creates a rapid response team to support children and their families if mom or dad are arrested by ICE.

Washington Gov. Bob Ferguson on Monday signed an executive order to create a state team focused on responding to the separation of migrant families as the Trump administration promises mass deportations.

Surrounded by immigrant advocates chanting, “Keep families together!” Gov. Bob Ferguson signed an executive order Monday creating a rapid response team to help Washington families targeted by the Trump administration for deportation.

Gov. Bob Ferguson will convene a family separation rapid response team to recommend, protect and aid families of undocumented residents  as the federal government continues to ramp up efforts to fulfill President Donald Trump's calls for the mass deportation .

The team intends to help kids whose parents are deported, especially in situations such as if a parent is taken into custody while their child is in school.
