The Cincinnati Reds have acquired third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes from the Pittsburgh Pirates in advance of Thursday's Major League Baseball trade deadline, the teams announced Wednesday. In return the Pirates will receive lefty reliever Taylor Rogers and shortstop prospect Sammy Stafura and cash.

The Reds made small improvements at the margins without giving up any key prospects who were set to help them soon.

After months of buildup, today is the day when MLB's trade deadline will finally come and go. And the trades have already begun.
