President-elect Donald Trump’s recent “Meet the Press” interview has triggered concerns among allies and critics about his level of awareness of the details of the sprawling investigation into the Capitol attack that has produced hundreds of convictions in the nearly four years since Jan.

More than 140 police officers were assaulted by the mob, and the damage to the Capitol –from windows rioters smashed to enter the building to property rioters stole – was in the millions.

Philip Sean Grillo, who was sentenced Friday to 12 months in prison for his role in the riot, said “Trump’s gonna pardon me anyways” as U.S. Marshals took him into custody. Grillo, The Hill wrote, was found guilty of the felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding, as well as some misdemeanors.

While defendants may sneer and defense lawyers may preen, the nearly 1,600 cases have produced a record that will endure.
