There are two games on the WNBA docket to start the week, headlined by Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings hosting the New York Liberty at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. The other contest is between the Seattle Storm and Connecticut Sun at 7 p.
Bueckers' teammate, forward Maddy Seigrist, looked visibly stressed trying to keep the Dallas guard corralled while on the bench. At one point, the rookie asked for a review with a finger twirl, and Seigrist hysterically pushed her hand back down. Just look at this poor woman. She was going through it.
The WNBA, much like the NBA, is quickly being built on the backs of superstars. Angel Reese, A'ja Wilson, Caitlin Clark, and Paige Bueckers are ushering the WNBA into its most successful era, and the players are looking to capitalize on it.
The popularity of the younger players' cards can be explained in part by the fact that players like Stewart entered the league before card manufacturers started working closely with the WNBA. Howarth said Panini will continue to invest in this area, and he is looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
