One of two federally-recognized tribes in Florida wants to join a lawsuit to stop Alligator Alcatraz from operating in the Everglades.

An advisor to the Miccosukee Tribe says Gov. Ron DeSantis is threatening his legacy as an environmentalist by leading the way on Alligator Alcatraz.

The Miccosukee Tribe in Florida joined environmental groups on Tuesday to sue the federal and state agencies that constructed an immigrant detention center known as the “Alligator Alcatraz” and located in the Everglades National Park.
