New York City Mayor Eric Adams' corruption case should be dropped with prejudice, an outside attorney appointed by the court told the judge in the case Friday.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Friday named replacements for all but one of the deputies who have announced they’re quitting over his arrangement with the Trump administration to dismiss Adams' criminal prosecution in part so he can help with an immigration crackdown.

She got an early, positive reception from the city’s public advocate, Jumaane Williams, who is first in line to replace the mayor if he were to resign. Williams, a self-described activist elected official, has already backed City Comptroller Brad Lander’s candidacy but offered warm words for Speaker Adams.
