PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Sox, a beloved 17-year-old Masai giraffe at the Pittsburgh Zoo, has died. The zoo announced on Sunday that Sox had been humanely euthanized on Friday.

Sox's death will have no impact on the zoo's plans to build an $8 million giraffe barn as part of the first phase of a 20-year master plan.
