Orleans Parish Sheriff Susan Hutson is in the midst of fresh controversy after her office mistakenly released the wrong detainee from the parish jail in what she described as a clerical error. Hutson announced the unintended release of Khalil Bryan, 30, Friday afternoon. He remain at-large as of Monday morning.

Officials at a New Orleans correctional facility said they accidentally released 30-year-old Khalil Bryan after a clerical error.

Khalil Bryan was released after a clerical error caused officials to confuse him with another inmate with a similar last name, officials said.
