Jamie Foxx's representatives said that the actor needed stiches after he was hit by a glass thrown by another patron at the Beverly Hills restaurant Mr. Chow Friday.

Police are investigating an alleged fight at a Beverly Hills restaurant that allegedly spilled over to a table where Jamie Foxx was sitting.

Jamie Foxx was injured during an altercation at his birthday dinner, his spokesperson said Saturday. A spokesperson for Foxx said the actor, who turned 57 on Dec. 13, was “at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth.” Foxx received stitches and is currently recovering, the spokesperson said.

Sources from law enforcement told TMZ that police were called to Mr. Chow around 10 PM after a report of a fight broke out inside. While the details surrounding the incident remain unclear, it's been confirmed that Foxx, 56, was involved in the altercation. However, by the time authorities arrived, the actor had already left the scene.

What started as a bad headache turned out to be a brain bleed that led to a stroke and a grueling recovery, Foxx told an Atlanta audience in a theater located just a few minutes from the hospital that “put [him] back together again.
