The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Thursday it will be investigating multiple California universities to ensure they are in compliance with a Supreme Court ruling banning affirmative action

California banned affirmative action decades ago. The Trump administration says it plans to investigate whether schools there are still considering race.

The latest action comes after the U.S. Department of Education said it was investigating 52 universities for alleged racial discrimination earlier this month.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld a federal restriction on the sale of parts kits that permit unlicensed gun owners to make firearms at home that cannot be traced by the police. In a 7-2 decision, the justices agreed these homemade weapons, often referred to as “ghost guns,” qualify as firearms under federal law.

The US Supreme Court on March 26 upheld the federal regulation of built-at-home “ghost gun” kits, backing a rule put in place during the Biden administration to stem what officials said was a torrent of untraceable weapons.
