The NCAA transfer portal window is set to open next Monday, Dec. 9 and run through Saturday, Dec. 28. But even though it isn’t open yet, graduate players can still enter the portal now, as can players on a team where there’s been a coaching change.

College football's winter transfer portal window is open, with nearly 750 FBS scholarship players entering Monday. Players have until Dec. 28 to put their name in the portal. It doesn't mean they have to find their new schools by then -- or that they can't return to their previous schools -- but they have 20 days to decide whether they want to be in the portal.
