Severe weather is not expected tomorrow night, but brief heavy rain and lightning are possible. There will be isolated showers on and off on Monday. Stronger storms are expected to arrive overnight into Tuesday morning. Large hail and damaging winds are anticipated with these storms, with the highest risk in our eastern half.

The chances of a "significant severe weather threat" in the South next week are continuing to grow just as the U.S. and other nations in the Northern Hemisphere usher in the start of meteorological spring.

Severe weather can happen at any time in North Texas, but climatologically the month of March is when we start to see severe storms become more likely. Severe weather peaks during April and May.

After a chilly start, North Texas will see plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures this weekend, with highs reaching the 60s.
