McCormick was one of the thousands of people who participated in a “No Kings” protest at Old College Hall in Newark on June 14 to make a difference.

Thousands gathered Saturday at the Delaware County Courthouse in Media as part of the No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance in opposition to President Donald Trump and his policies.

Attendees chanted "No dictators," "No kings" along the route. There was also an array of people carrying signs reading: "No hate, racism, Trump," "No kings," "fighting tyranny since 1776" and many more promoting peace. Cars honked, backing marchers.

The "No Kings" protest and march happening in Philadelphia on Saturday coincides with hundreds of rallies scheduled to take place across the country.

In Delaware County, a rally will be held at the County Courthouse in Media from noon to 1 p.m. A group intends to rally at Route 320 and Baltimore Pike from 1 to 2 p.m. in Springfield, and a third group has received a permit to protest in Haverford Township at Eagle Road and Sunnyhill Lane.

On Saturday, June 14, at 4 p.m., Auburn and Opelika residents joined to participate in the ‘No Kings” protest. Part of a nationwide initiative organized by the 50501 Movement, which stands for 50 protests,

"No Kings Day" is a nationwide day of peaceful protest organized to coincide with a military parade in Washington, D.C., marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. According to CBS News, the parade and related festivities are expected to cost between $25 million and $45 million.

With “No Kings Day” protests taking place across the nation, many took to the Castillo de San Marco in St. Augustine Saturday morning, protesting against President Donald Trump’s administration on the president’s 79th birthday. The Houston demonstration is one of several planned in the region throughout the day and is expected to draw thousands of protesters.
