The following contains spoilers from the Dec. 15 episode of HBO’s Dune: Prophecy. Ahead of next Sunday’s season finale, HBO’s yet-to-be-renewed Dune: Prophecy dropped a few bombshells — including the mysterious and powerful Desmond Hart’s origins.

Dune: Prophecy Episode 5 reveals the earliest form of the Sardaukar, with Desmond Hart as their first leader, known as a Bashar. Their armor looks a bit different: instead of the grey armor and helmets we see in the Dune films, they wear blue and black suits with face masks (they look a bit like Mortal Kombat fighters).

The penultimate episode of Dune: Prophecy answers two big questions about the central mystery of Desmond Hart while leaving another question to linger. By the end of “In Blood, Truth,” we know that Desmond is the son of Tula Harkonnen and Orry Atreides and that he is burning his enemies with a variation of the Omnius plague.
