Cubs fans pay tribute to Ryne Sandberg

Ryne Sandberg played second base and spent 15-years with the Chicago Cubs. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005 and the team retired his number 23 jersey that same year. The Chicago Cubs will now honor Sandberg for the rest of the season with a special jersey patch.
A team playing hundreds of miles to our north became a local favorite. And the best player on that team – one of the best players of that era – was Ryne Sandberg.

MLB dignitaries will come to Chicago in early August to announce the Chicago Cubs will host the 2027 All-Star Game.
