Pakistan closed its air space for Indian airlines and rejected New Delhi's suspension of a critical water sharing treaty on Thursday in retaliation for India's response to a deadly Islamist militant attack on tourists in Indian Kashmir.

Following the deadly terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, Pakistan announced airspace restrictions for all Indian airlines. Several airlines, including SpiceJet, Air India, and IndiGo, have issued travel advisories for their passengers.

Abbasi stated that if India were to halt the water supply to Pakistan by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, which has already been partially suspended, India should brace itself for war, as Islamabad is prepared to strike if provoked.
