Spending in the Wisconsin Supreme Court election has passed $90 million as of Monday, according to a tally by the Brennan Center for Justice.
Liberal candidate Susan Crawford defeated Elon Musk-backed conservative judge Brad Schimel to preserve a 4-3 liberal majority in the Wisconsin Supreme Court, in a contest that became the most expensive state Supreme Court race in the country’s history, with nearly $100 million spent on campaigning.
Meanwhile, Crawford called the 2022 U.S. Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade that struck down the constitutional right to abortion "wrong."
