Some Longhorns like Tramon Mark and Kadin Shedrick are back in the NCAA Tournment. For others such as Tre Johnson and Jordan Pope, it's a new experience.

The Texas Longhorns finished the regular season with a 6–12 record in SEC play. They exited the SEC tournament just four games over .500 at 19–15. The mediocre showing still didn't exclude Rodney Terry 's team from reaching the 2025 men's NCAA tournament.
