Quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, known for his prolific career stats, has announced his transfer to SMU, joining a team fresh off a College Football Playoff elimination.

SMU football landed a premier quarterback in the transfer portal, as Tyler Van Dyke has committed to the university.

The SMU Mustangs picked up a commitment Wednesday from former Wisconsin quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel. Van Dyke had transferred to Wisconsin for the 2024 season after an up-and-down career at Miami, but suffered a torn ACL in September that put a premature end to his only season with the Badgers.

QB Tyler Van Dyke, who has 7,891 passing yards and 55 TD passes at Wisconsin and Miami, has committed to SMU from the transfer portal, his agent said.
