Firefighters continued their efforts on the Palisades and Eaton fires on Saturday, hoping to make as much progress as possible before another round of fire weather is expected to return next week.

Firefighters are still working to contain the Palisades Fire as weather conditions improve this week and search efforts continue in the wildfire which has killed at least 10 people and burned over 23,

Firefighters are making great progress in the fight against the Palisades Fire, which is at 52% containment as of Sunday morning. More winds are expected in the forecast, however, which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Fire Weather Watch.

Containment of the deadly Palisades Fire rose to 43% with firefighters catching a break from the weather thanks to low clouds and good humidity.

Firefighters continue to contain and suppress both of the Los Angeles area fires Thursday, as winds that battered the region over the last week have subsided. The majority of red flag warnings of critical fire danger expired Wednesday evening,

Palisades Fire initially started 10:30 a.m. Jan. 7 in Los Angeles County. It has burned 23,713 acres after being active for 12 days. A crew of 5,677 firefighters has been working on site and they managed to contain 52% of the fire by Sunday morning.

The deadly Palisades Fire was 27% contained Friday as a much-feared Santa Ana wind event wound down without dramatically impacting the firefight, and residents were allowed to return home in select neighborhoods that had been evacuated due to the blaze.
