A fire on Monday morning destroyed an old restaurant, according to Florence County Fire Services Coordinator Sam Brockington.

FLORENCE, Ky. (WXIX) - Police announced Thursday they arrested the gunman they believe shot at two people in a car at a Florence intersection last week and charged him with attempted murder. No one was hurt when it was reported at Weaver Road and Mission Lane on Feb. 28, but Florence police said they found three bullet holes in the vehicle.

According to police, Johnson allegedly forced himself into the victim’s room at the Colonial Inn and began to fight them. Johnson is also accused of taking the victim’s wallet, watch and jacket. He then took the victim’s car in the parking lot, where the victim allegedly fired one shot at Johnson during the fight.
