ARLINGTON – The United Football League announced its new national headquarters will be in North Texas. The headquarters will be located in Arlington, inside the city's ballpark circle. The UFL is in season from March through June, but the new facility will serve as the league's year-round operations home, the league said.

Total Energies, a French energy company, already owns five gas wells near Mother's Heart Learning Center in east Arlington. The proposed wells would be located at 2020 South Watson Road, 1,000 feet away from the daycare and more than 800 feet from the nearest resident, the company said in a statement.

Three years later, the XFL's successor, the UFL, will now call Arlington home for years to come.

It was the first time in 12 years that Arlington opened new land for fracking. TotalEnergies will drill 10 new gas wells that are two-tenths of a mile from a daycare center amid an uptick in Barnett Shale activity.
