For a second straight NHL trade deadline, Danny Briere will be taking calls and keeping just about everything on the table. As the general manager of the Flyers’ rebuild, Briere has always been “open for business.

Brière, who is in his second deadline as the team's shot caller, has tough decisions to make regarding Laughton, Rasmus Ristolainen, and others.

Laughton and Ristolainen are hardly viewed as spare parts or expendable. The value gained does not necessarily help in the short term. If teams will not overpay, why bother listening? NHL trade deadline is sneaking up, and things have been relatively quiet on the trade front. On Tuesday’s Morning Cuppa Hockey, the Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli made an interesting comment regarding Scott Laughton and the market for middle-six centers/forwards.
