President-elect Donald Trump’s recent “Meet the Press” interview has triggered concerns among allies and critics about his level of awareness of the details of the sprawling investigation into the Capitol attack that has produced hundreds of convictions in the nearly four years since Jan.

More than 140 police officers were assaulted by the mob, and the damage to the Capitol –from windows rioters smashed to enter the building to property rioters stole – was in the millions.

While defendants may sneer and defense lawyers may preen, the nearly 1,600 cases have produced a record that will endure.

Scores of rioters have said they expect immediate relief once Trump returns to the White House, and their lawyers have asked judges to delay sentencing trials and other proceeding
