Japan began talks with the US to find out the details of President Donald Trump’s planned reciprocal tariff measures, as the Asian nation braces for potential fallout.

President Trump on Thursday signed a presidential memorandum proposing reciprocal tariffs that he maintains will crack down on unfair and discriminatory tariffs from both adversaries and allies.

Trump calls it unfair that some countries apply higher tariffs to specific American goods than the U.S. applies back. A new executive order seeks to change that.
