In an interview with Empire magazine, published on Monday, James Cameron, the writer, director and creator of the Avatar films, revealed his plans for that world, which included him saying that he told Disney he wants to make more Avatar stories using animation .
Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko created the American animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. It mainly focuses on 12-year-old Aang, the Avatar and Air Nomad.
Disney has officially revealed the stunning first trailer for James Cameron's next "Avatar" film, "Avatar: Fire and Ash," which is set to hit theaters on December 19, 2025, three years after "Avatar: The Way of the Water."
James Cameron says he is talking to Disney about expanding the 'Avatar' film series into animation via a film or anthology series with Disney.
Even the colour palette tells a story. In Avatar (2009), Cameron famously leaned into a luminous jungle dreamscape and a bright blue tone. In Fire and Ash, colour looks to be drained. Scenes hang in smoke-drenched oranges and greys, as if grief itself has leaked into the soil.
