As the Red Sox announced on Wednesday afternoon, they claimed catcher/infielder Mickey Gasper, formerly with the Minnesota Twins and the New York Yankees, to bring him back to Boston after a year away from the team in 2025.

Kiner-Falefa has struck out out at a relatively low rate (15.7%) throughout his career but he showed more swing-and-miss with Toronto down the stretch. For the Jays, he appeared in 15 postseason games last fall, starting 12 at second base (including three in the World Series).

The New York Yankees were listed as an ideal landing spot to poach a former All-Star free agent from the Boston Red Sox.
