The Boston Red Sox lost out on another star free agent in Anthony Santander, who just signed with the Toronto Blue Jays on a five-year, $90+ million dollar deal, per Jeff Passan. Santander fit the Red Sox’s bill for a right-handed slugger, but instead of getting him, he went from one division rival, the Baltimore Orioles, to another in Toronto.

The Red Sox avoided salary arbitration with an All-Star outfielder, signing him to a guaranteed contract that can pay as much as $15.9 million.
