TAMPA — Whether the Lightning will have top-line forward Jake Guentzel available when they resume play Thursday in San Jose remains to be seen. But Guentzel did return to practice Tuesday wearing a red no-contact jersey after missing the team’s last game Sunday against Montreal with an upper-body injury.

Just ask an NHL scout, perhaps one who knows Guentzel better than anyone—Jake’s father, Mike, is a pro scout for Utah Hockey Club. He watched Jake and the Lightning on Thursday night at AMALIE Arena, a game that ended as a 3-1 win over the St. Louis Blues.
