Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, Grateful Dead and Elvis Presley singer, dies in Nashville

Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, a featured vocalist with the Grateful Dead and a backup singer on Elvis Presley hits, has died at 78. Dennis McNally, a spokesperson for Godchaux-MacKay, confirmed Godchaux-MacKay died on Nov. 2 at Alive Hospice in Nashville after battling cancer.
