Nearly half of the databases that the CDC used to update — tracking health information like Covid vaccination rates and RSV hospitalizations — have been paused, according to new research.
The researchers identified CDC databases that had at least monthly updates. Of 1,359 databases reviewed, 82 had at least monthly updates as of early 2025. Databases were categorized by four topic groups: vaccination, infectious diseases, public health, and those unrelated to public health or healthcare.
