Federal officials said an arrest was made in connection with the shooting at Border Patrol officers in Little Village on Saturday.

Senior White House aides have reportedly been disappointed with ICE and impressed by Border Patrol’s operations in Los Angeles and Chicago, including rappelling from helicopters and leaping from unmarked trucks during raids, and believe that same approach could reinvigorate ICE’s field offices.

Two incidents of alleged shots fired at Border Patrol agents are under investigation, Univsion reports. Both incidents occurred on Nov. 6 on the border.

“Moments after exiting the CBP Vehicle, the Martinez Vehicle drove northbound ” at the agent and he “proceeded to fire approximately five shots from his service weapon at the driver of the Martinez Vehicle,” prosecutors wrote in a criminal complaint last month.

The possible moves suggest that despite efforts to arrest immigrants en masse, the administration believes ICE isn’t being aggressive enough.

Patrol Chief Jon Hein faced a flood of criticism — from ex-cops, internet trolls and members of his own department — after his officers were ordered not to respond to the Oct. 4 shooting in Brighton Park.

The incident involving Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino, has been a key part of the court proceedings challenging immigration tactics in Chicago.
