As North Georgia and metro Atlanta brace for snow later this week, the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Friday morning.

Snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected as the storm sweeps across Texas Thursday into the Southeast on Friday.

Computer models continue to show a winter storm impacting the Southeast into the weekend. The FOX 5 Storm Team feels confident that north Georgia will see a mixed bag of precipitation, including snow, sleet, freezing rain, and, for some, a cold rain.

Several inches of snow and sleet accumulations are likely in far north Georgia. 11Alive has issued a Weather Impact Alert.
