Snow has started falling across Wales as an amber weather warning for snow and ice takes effect. Two flights were diverted to Cardiff Airport after Bristol Airport suspended its operations because of bad weather.

It comes after three weather warnings were in place for most of Wales at the same time with snow, heavy in places, closing roads and seeing some vehicles stranded

Brighter on Tuesday but a few patches of cloud are expected to drift in, bringing a chance of the odd wintry shower. Wednesday will see dry and settled conditions with plenty of wintry sunshine. A few patches of cloud will move in on Thursday morning, bringing a chance of a wintry shower, but the skies will clear in the afternoon.
